Sensation @ Dundee's Science Centre

The winning design in an architectural competition, Hypostyle's work for Dundee Science Centre has become an icon for the city. Commissioned as part of Dundee's millennium celebrations, Sensation was completed on time and on budget.

Externally, the purity of the simple geometric shapes are preserved by a smooth light metal skin. Internally, all is exposed: the way the building works on show for all to see. The structure and services are celebrated, rather than hidden, and their intricate component parts are a vital part of the building's overall atmosphere. Lighting effects change the building's ambience at the flick of a switch.

With Sensation, Hypostyle has created a cathedral to science.
