Denmilne Street

Hypostyle won the commission for this project through a competition run by Communities Scotland. The architectural touchstones for these 15 housing units (both general use and for the elderly) were low energy and design innovation.

Super insulation, whole-house passive ventilation and innovative heating systems were central features of our low energy design. To ensure that these homes could be adapted for a number of different residents, Hypostyle specified removable floor and wall panels and a structure-free floor plate, along with extra toilet facilities. These 'lifetime' homes have proved highly popular with client and residents alike.

Project Value:
£800 K
