John Garrett is a founding director with Hypostyle Architects. John's expertise lies in design, housing, urban planning, private, community and public sector architecture. His unsurpassed knowledge and experience of housing architecture delivers design solutions that are creative, technically efficient, socially aware and responsive to client and end-user requirements.

With over 26 years of architectural practice, 21 as director, John's all-round ability sees him getting involved at all stages in our projects, from design to completion, and this has enabled him to build-up substantial expertise in housing development and urban design.

He was the team leader in successful competition wins for developer/design projects in Castlemilk and Drumchapel, Glasgow and for lifetime homes in the city's Denmilne Street.

John's extensive masterplanning experience includes a town extension in West Lothian and the Glasgow 'New Neighbourhoods'. John also has extensive experience in leading numerous bids for site appraisal, acquisition and development of land and sites for a range of housebuilders and developers.
