Montgomery & Windsor Street, Stone Repairs
Significant stone repairs were required to this corner block, which forms part of Playfair’s Eastern New Town Scheme. As such the building brings important historical and social significance to the area.
The extent of the repairs increased greatly once conditional surveys of the block were carried out, and included the rebuilding of both gables, significant stone repairs to the elevations and roof repairs. Original octagonal chimney profiles and copes were reinstated as per Playfair’s original design allowing the building’s aesthetic significance to be restored.
