Amlaird Road

This development comprises 19no. new build dwellings for rent on a brown field site in Kilmarnock.  

Two storey dwellings are grouped together as semi detached blocks or terraces of three or four units fronting onto Amlaird Road and Thorn Terrace, ith each dwelling having in-curtilage parking.  A detached bungalow has also been incorporated within the development and has been designed to meet the needs of a wheelchair dependant tenant.

Overall there are six house types within the development, to service the housing requirements of the area.  The plans allow flexibility when grouping together to form terraced blocks, resulting in an interesting and varied streetscape.  The choice of external materials generally relates to those already present on surrounding developments.

The house types have been designed to be robust and flexible to accommodate changing life patterns of the intended occupants.  It is believed that this flexibility will allow the houses to be adaptable to future needs and therefore remain an important resource for as long as possible.
