Kilbarchan House Extension

An extension and internal modification to a traditional Victorian family house situated within a conservation area. We worked with our client to provide contemporary family space consisting of sitting room, kitchen and dining areas with a utility room on ground floor and an additional bedroom with dressing room and bathroom on the upper floor.

The kitchen has a breakfast counter for informal dining, with open plan access to dining and living areas. Attention to detail has been given to finishes with the client choosing bespoke kitchen fittings and stainless steel appliances to match lighting and electrical fittings elsewhere.

The extension was designed in conjunction with an extension to the adjoining property This involved liaising with the other Architectural firm at an early stage to ensure a coherent and well considered solution for both properties.

Internally the extension is light and modern with a contemporary finish that compliments the traditional building. Full height glazing to the elevation and the use of glass blocks allow plenty of light to enter the space, whilst care has been taken in deciding on materials that work well together, to create a high quality finish.
